Title: Licensed practical nurse 

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Shift, Weekend, Day, Evening

Salary: $22.74 to $28.01 Hourly for 40 hours per week, Life Insurance Benefits, Group Insurance Benefits, As per collective agreement

Anticipated Start Date: 2009/07/01

Location: Grande Prairie, Alberta (2 vacancies ) 

Skill Requirements:


Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Licensure by the appropriate province or territory of work, Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work, Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination, Basic cardiac life support (BCLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate


Experience: Experience an asset


Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English


Work Setting: Nursing or convalescent home


Area of Specialization: Geriatrics


Registered Nursing Assistant Specific Skills: Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse, Distribute medication to patients, Change patients' dressings, Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy, Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families, Bathe and dress patients, Assist registered nurses with various medical procedures


Additional Skills: Monitor patients' progress and report any changes


Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records, Tuberculosis test


Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning
